Going back to school can seem intimidating and full of uncertainties. It’s been a while since you’ve probably been in a classroom let alone studying for a test. But just think of the future that lies ahead of you when you put yourself and your education first.
Many students at The Salon Professional Academy Georgetown decided to go back to school to learn how to do something they actually are passionate about. Whether you are in a totally different career path or have a family- going to cosmetology school will let you begin doing what you love and in turn be able to make a good living.
“I was going to school for marketing focusing on social media marketing for 3 years, but I realized I hated the marketing part. I started working at a salon after covid and ended up loving it. I would help stylists make reels for their instagrams and help them edit and take photos. The closer I got to the stylists and the more I learned about it, the more I realized that cosmetology school just made sense. I had always been interested in beauty, makeup and hair- but never knew how to make that a career until I worked in a salon and started learning all about it. I decided to go ahead and change careers before my last year of college to a completely different profession. So far, it’s been a lot of fun and I’m still loving it and it’s only been a short time but it has truly changed my life.” Marvie Nunez
“I’ve always had an interest in doing hair but I put everyone else first as a mom and wife. I decided to take a chance on myself and go for it.” – Callie
“If your passion is hair and you keep going back to it, stop what you’re doing- if you can afford to, and pursue that passion. It’s never too late, if you want to do it just go for it.” – Stevia
